The Department of Communication Studies at Bridgewater State University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Digital Publishing. The successful candidate will be able to teach undergraduate courses in a diverse interdisciplinary Communication and Media program that emphasizes convergent technology skills used in digital storytelling. In addition to teaching, the appointee will also be expected to engage in research, curriculum development, the advising and mentoring of students and service to the university and its community.
We seek candidates whose teaching focuses on the application of digital media practices, particularly news and/or non-fiction writing.
The position requires teaching Introduction to Journalism and Multimedia Storytelling classes along with other digital media classes and courses in the successful candidate's area of specialization. The successful candidate will be an excellent teacher and possess a well-developed Communication-or Media-related scholarly and/or creative agenda.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Communication, Media Studies, or a closely related field by September 1, 2018.
Candidates must engage in research and service, and advise and mentor undergraduate students.
A specialization in sports communication, visual communication, and/or coding is a plus.
