The Media Systems Specialist is a member of the Learning Technology Services team of Information Technology Services (ITS).
The Media Systems Specialist will schedule, demonstrate, recommend, operate, maintain, support, image, configure and deploy computer or multimedia equipment and facilitate activities in support of the university’s digital media strategy including the university’s digital signage.
The Media Systems Specialist will provide expert technical and customer service support and strategy development for instructional, presentation and collaboration technologies, including videoconferencing and lecture capture with the emphasis of enhancing the quality of content and the overall user experience.

Associate Degree or relevant experience.
Strong customer service orientation, excellent communication skills, and ability to efficiently convey highly complex technical issues to a range of populations.
Demonstrated successful experience in supporting computers in Windows and Mac networked environments.
Broad experience in installing, configuring and supporting rich media systems including stationary and portable rich presentation systems.
Demonstrated facility with creating, editing and documenting video and audio applications.
Facility for completing tasks in fast paced environments requiring frequent multi-tasking and prioritizing tasks.
Ability to work without supervision.
Ability to lift and maneuver computer and multimedia equipment.
Work may require:

Daily stooping and kneeling.
Daily crouching and crawling.
Daily pushing and pulling.
Daily climbing and balancing.
Daily lifting up to 30 pounds unassisted and up to 50 pounds with assistance.
Work is generally performed in the Furman campus environment but may require occasional travel. Work is performed under usual office conditions. The normal hours for this position are 8:30-5, Monday through Friday. Actual working hours may vary according to the needs of the position including required night and weekend work when events dictate the need for this flexibility.
