Description: Do you have an interest in broadcast engineering? Would you enjoy working in a production environment? Are you a fixer? If your answer is yes, we have a place just for you! The Television, Radio & Film department at Emerson College is looking to hire 3 Video Maintenance Technicians for our growing department. We're offering $20-25/hr for Technicians to work a part-time schedule at 19 hours per week. This group is an integral part of all of productions put on by Emerson College and will be a huge part in making sure that all of our content is shared seamlessly. Our technical gurus are mostly behind-the-scenes maintaining the universe of media technology for our facilities. The three individuals will be supervised by the Video Engineering Shop Manager. Our ideal candidate will have some experience from a production environment, they will be enthusiastic about the field, and have great technical skills. A typical day will include: Repairs and modifications to electronic and mechanical video equipment throughout the campus. Tracking repairs that are being made at the manufacturer's factory or at an off-campus repair facility.
Required Knowledge: Basic skills that we need for this individual: Knowledge of video systems Mechanical skills on a variety of equipment Intermediate computer skills Experience with installation & integration of equipment Knowledge of fiber Good communication skills not everyone will be as tech savvy as you! Youll have to the patient and friendly when speaking with with faculty, staff, and students
Preferred/Desirable Knowledge: Nice to have, but not required:
Required Prior Work Experience: 2 to 3 years experience in video/television or similar production setting.
