The full specification is available on our web site at http://www.cuny.edu/about/administration/offices/ohrm/hros/classification/ccsjobs.htmlCONTRACT TITLEIT AssistantFLSANon-exemptCAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATIONThis IT Assistant - Level 2 position at Kingsborough Community College will report to the Chief Information Officer.The successful candidate will keep current on LMS/Analytics and SIS integration communities, networking, researching processes, procedures, best practices, and available resources for maximizing the capabilities of the LMS/Analytics and Banner integration.Duties Include: * Maintains users, enrollments, and courses in the LMS and Analytics environments; archive courses and data each semester. * Provides quality, friendly Tier 2 technical support (remote and on-site) to resolve issues for faculty, staff, and students. * Evaluates and coordinates installation of all system updates, upgrades, bug fixes, building blocks, and other software integrated with the University's Blackboard products. * Coordinates with the IT Department on integration of Blackboard products with Banner. * Configures, troubleshoots, debugs, and tests all of the University's Blackboard products. * Opens and monitors support tickets with Blackboard Support to quickly resolve technical issues and escalate tickets as necessary. * Accurately reports and documents Banner integration issues with Blackboard products. * Assists in writing, developing, and updating technical support documentation for users. * Assess alternatives and consult stakeholders, and evaluate and communicate potential risks prior to making decisions. * Provide training to Faculty in use of Blackboard for beginner, mid and Advance levels * Provide training to Faculty in use of building blocks like Collaboration, Turnitin etc * Work as liaison with CUNY CIS support staff to resolve problems which require their intervention. * Update Blackboard Student Email with Student email accounts * Provides support for special initiatives within instructional services and is responsible for the management and evaluation of support staff.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS1. High School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent2. A minimum of six months of full-time experience in a computer or technology-related position. Experience that is more than 20 hours per week and less than 35 hours per week may be counted at 50% of the requirement (i.e., two months of part time experience equal to one month full time experience)3. Additional experience and/or education that can be met by ONE of the following: An additional three years and six months of full-time work experience in a computer or technology-related position; an Associate's degree plus 18 months of full-time work experience in a computer or technology-related position; or a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution4. Demonstrated English Language proficiency5. A Motor Vehicle Driver's license, valid in New York State, may be required for some, but not all positions.This title has three levels. To qualify for Levels 2 and 3, additional qualifications, such as education, experience, or certification relevant to the area of specialization are required.OTHER QUALIFICATIONS * Experience in computer based training instructional design with learning design software such as Adobe Captivate, Adobe Connect, Visio. * Must have strong understanding of internet concepts and web technology, including User Experience design and digital media authoring.COMPENSATIONNew Hire: $51,569Incumbent $58,274 * This amount reflects a 13% salary suppression in effect for the first 24 months of employment only.BENEFITSCUNY offers a comprehensive benefits package to employees and eligible dependents based on job title and classification.
