The City of Oakland is seeking to fill one Cable Television Operations Chief Engineer vacancy within the Office of the City Clerk. The incumbent operates and maintains all KTOP technical facilities, including studio, hearing rooms, remote and master control equipment and systems, as well as signal delivery to the Comcast/AT&T cable head end; and performs related duties as assigned. The ideal candidate for this position will have the experience that demonstrates the ability to manage the design, repair, plan and maintenance of KTOP's equipment and technical facilitates. Experience in analog and digital media technology, troubleshooting, contract & budget management, broadcast networking and file management are highly desirable. Minimum requirements include Bachelor’s Degree in electrical engineering or closely related field from an accredited college or university and two years of experience managing the engineering and operations functions and staff of a professional television production and operations facility. A Certified Senior Broadcast Engineer (CSBE) or a Certified Broadcast Television Engineer (CBTE) certification from the Society of Broadcast Engineers is required.
