Rutgers, The state University of New Jersey is seeking a Multimedia Specialist for the Office of Information Technology/ Health Science IT. The Multimedia Specialist supports the Rutgers School of Dental Medicine (RSDM) end-user community in the deployment, on-going maintenance, and use of audiovisual technologies. Provides basic support for end-user technologies (desktops, laptops, etc.) to faculty, staff, and students. Provides end-user support during classroom activities and assists faculty with the preparation of materials.
Coordinates requests for audiovisual services during events held in all RSDM locations.
Sets up and configures audiovisual systems prior to event start times and provides additional support.
Maintains all existing audiovisual deployments and coordinates with third party vendors on the repair and maintenance of systems.
Provides end-user training on the proper use of RSDM audiovisual systems.
Collaborates with RSDM staff and vendors to conduct needs analysis in the deployment or modification of new and existing audiovisual systems.
Supervises RSDM work-study student employees providing basic audiovisual systems support during academic events.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
Three (3) years of progressively more responsible experience in a related technology field.
Equivalent education, experience and/or training may be substituted for the degree requirement.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Proficiency with troubleshooting enterprise and professional audiovisual technologies including Crestron, Extron, Biamp, and Sure.
Proficiency with design, implementation, and maintenance of audiovisual technologies including but not limited to projectors, televisions, wired and wireless microphone and public address systems, video conferencing, and audiovisual control systems.
Proficiency in supporting end-user desktop systems and applications such as Microsoft Office, Skype, and Office 365. Ability to comprehend, create, and maintain systems documentation and inventories including end-user documentation, systems diagrams, supplies inventory, etc.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with colleagues, vendors, and end-users.
Technical audiovisual certification (InfoComm CTSi, Crestron DMCE, Extraon AV Associate.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Must be able to lift and/or move up to 60 pounds, be able to climb ladders up to 20 feet tall and be able to work in small spaces and on uneven surfaces.
Required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Operates in professional office, academic, and clinical environments.
Driving to RSDM off-site locations throughout New Jersey may occasionally be required.
