Vermont PBS has an opening for a Director of Broadcast Engineering. Vermont PBS maintains a state-wide transmission system consisting of both low and high power digital transmitters and remote control and monitoring systems.
Responsibilities include overseeing the integration, distribution and maintenance of digital RF, master control, and studio broadcast infrastructure. Knowledge of hardware and software related to broadcast transmission and a video production environment is helpful. Management of technical support and network maintenance including personnel supervision and financial management. Compliance with broadcast license and other legal requirements, and technical support of viewer coverage and outreach. This position reports to the CTO. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of broadcast engineering experience; an understanding of RF, microwave and transmitter operations; knowledge of broadcast trends, and general knowledge of IP networking and computer configuration. Experience in troubleshooting and routine network maintenance a must. College degree in an engineering related field necessary.
