<p>Role Summary:<br />This is a customer-facing position that ensures overall classroom readiness, primarily related to technology in 45+ classrooms across the Academic Health Center campus along with the Senior Communications Technician and the Service Coordinator. This position is responsible for both a proactive presence in and around the classrooms, checking in with classes and events before start times, and reactive “911” classroom issue response. This position also helps ensure classroom capture systems are functioning and distance learning technology is ready to use daily.<br /><br />Hours 7:00am - 3:30pm<br /><br />Duties:<br />Classroom AV Support Technician – 70%</p><ul><li>Responsible for Room Readiness, ensuring that all classrooms are ready for teaching and learning at all times.</li><li>Be in, around our classrooms, visible and accessible to room presenters, and learners</li><li>“On demand” support for users AHC supported classrooms and other classrooms in the AHC</li><li>Document trouble calls in issue tracking database and assist with reporting</li><li>Follow-up with users post-trouble calls</li><li>Serve as contact for all classroom technology issues</li><li>Provide on-the-spot or scheduled training on classroom equipment</li><li>Works proactively with event coordinators to provide a high-level of technology support</li><li>Helps maintain equipment database</li><li>Helps track Facilities Management work order status</li></ul><p>Distance Education Delivery – 20%</p><ul><li>Provide technology backup for Interactive Television operations for 7 classrooms</li><li>Help ensure Mediasite delivery in 10 classrooms</li><li>Assist with Webex and other webconferencing tool setup, user training, and facilitation</li></ul><p>Other Duties – 10%</p><ul><li>Shared classroom signage and communication responsibilities</li><li>Help maintain 45 testing stations in Computer-Based testing facility</li><li>Other duties as assigned</li></ul><p>Hourly Salary Range: $15.29 to $23.29 USD/hour</p><p>***This position is represented by a bargaining unit, AFSCME Technical. <p><strong>All required qualifications must be documented on application materials. </strong></p><p>Required Qualifications:</p><ul><li>High school graduation plus training in electronics, and one year of work experience in the operation and maintenance of audio visual equipment.</li></ul><p>Preferred Qualifications:</p><ul><li>Experience in distance collaboration and education delivery technologies.</li></ul>
