State University Faculty - Mass Communication (Unclassified IFO)
Teach Interactive/Digital Media Production (Audio/Video/Interactive Environments/Gaming) and other Mass Communication courses.
The incumbent would be expected to teach courses that would include, but are not limited to, Audio & Video Production, Photography Appreciation, Interactive Environments, Principles of Game Design, and other required and elective courses in the department's evolving Transmedia curriculum and academic core.
Instruct courses in varied locations, at varied times, and via various media commensurate with department and university needs.
Engage in scholarly research or creative achievement to enhance knowledge of field.
Provide evidence of continuing preparation and study in the field to enhance teaching abilities.
Contribute to student growth and development including student advising.
Support Winona State University's mission to enhance the intellectual, social, cultural and economic vitality of the people and communities we serve by providing assistance and service to the program, department, college, university and greater community. Serve on department, college, university and community committees.
Terminal degree (PhD or MFA) in Mass Communication, Media Production, Media Studies or closely related field.
Demonstrated professional experience and/or accomplishment in interactive/digital media production, especially video/audio production and emerging media.
Such experience could include, but not necessarily be limited to, television, radio, film, video, digital media, mobile (web based & native apps) and interactive games.
Demonstrated successful higher education teaching experience in interactive/digital media production.
Demonstrated commitment to quality teaching.
PhD in Mass Communication, Media Production, Media Studies or closely related field.
Direct experience and/or demonstrated accomplishment with two or more of the following:
