Under the direction of the Technology Enhanced Classroom Design & Operations Manager, provide day-to-day oversight, maintenance, and circulation of Audio/Visual equipment, primarily within Higgins Hall. This includes system checks, preventative maintenance, emergency repairs, installation and configuration, and scheduling of equipment.
Assist in Microsoft Windows administration for all Audio/Visual enabled classrooms within the Brooklyn Campus, responsible for software installation, updates and system configuration and imaging.
With moderate independence, perform general maintenance on all Audio/Visual equipment within Higgins Hall. This equipment includes built-in classroom technology (Technology Enhanced Classrooms), circulating projectors, television carts, etc.
Routinely coordinate with the Audio Visual manager and AV staff to ensure all equipment and cabling meets current standards and performance metrics.
Perform scheduled equipment checks on a daily basis.
Provide day-to-day oversight of Audio/Visual equipment circulation to faculty and staff. Ensure the proper operation of equipment checkout and scheduling system, and resolve conflicts and user issues related to circulated Audio/Visual equipment.
Provide on-site support for all circulated equipment within Higgins Hall.
Under the direction of the Audio/Visual manager and the Pratt Service Desk, respond to support requests by faculty, staff and students for Audio/Visual equipment and related computing systems on the Pratt campus.
Provide training and support to faculty and staff on equipment usage, educational technology trends, and Audio Visual policies.
Routinely coordinate with other Windows system administrators and maintain the functionality and stability of Windows operating systems installed within Audio/Visual enabled rooms on the Pratt campus. Provide day-to-day oversight of software updates, system configuration, and imaging of these machines.
With supervision and assistance from other Audio/Visual staff, assist in campus-wide Audio/Visual equipment installations and special projects. This includes new room integrations and commissioning of Audio/Visual equipment campus-wide.
Provide on-site audio/visual support for live events, including audio mixing, video matrix switching, user training and software/presentation assistance in a large venue environment.
Education: Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience required, preferably in Media production, Computer science, Instructional Media or a related field.
Experience: Minimum five years' experience in an Audio/Visual support or integration environment. Skilled in educational technologies and computer sciences.
Certifications: Infocomm CTS certification preferred. Attends seminars and courses to remain current on Audio-Visual industry standards.
Knowledge and Skills:
High level of organizational skill.
Demonstrated knowledge of Audio/Visual systems.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Windows administration.
Analytical, highly motivated and with a high degree of attention to detail.
Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations, as well as demonstrated sensitivity to cross cultural perspectives and experiences.
