Manage day-to-day operations of the Production Office for Tisch School of the Arts Department of Film and Television including business, technical and administrative operations. Develop budgets and monitor and approve expenditures to stay within budget. Develop and implement operational policies and practices to ensure that student productions run smoothly and successfully and that the safety and security of faculty, students, facilities, and equipment is realized. Recommend production options to students and resolve complex problems. Research new technologies. Develop and implement policy and procedure for production standards and professional practices for staff, faculty and students in response to and adapted to meet faculty and students' needs; ensure training is consistent with established industry and School curricular standards and related technologies. Supervise equipment inventory, purchase, research, repair, maintenance and distribution. Act as liaison with other School, University and industry offices; interpret and apply University policies, practices and procedures to address complex administrative matters; Supervise staff.
Required Education: Bachelor's degree
Preferred Education: Bachelor's degree in Film and Television
Required Experience: 4 years' film or video production facility operations management, budget administration and staff supervision experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must include proficiency with operation and repair of 16mm film cameras, digital video cameras, plus light sources and sound.
Preferred Experience: Experience in an academic and/or production environment. Prior experience in production repair facility.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication, and project management skills. Ability to communicate policies and procedures to individuals at all levels and use problem solving and negotiating skills. Proficiency with a wide range of current production technologies and repair of complex equipment including 16mm film cameras, digital video cameras and light sources. Ability to direct, evaluate and implement avariety of operations and activities.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Knowledge of current and emerging technologies regarding professional film, television and media production.
