Working closely with faculty and students - particularly in the Department of Visual Arts (DOVA) and Theater and Performance Studies (TAPS) - the Logan Center Shop Manager has overall responsibility for the management of the Logan Center Shop and oversight of fine arts and fabrication facilities. The Shop Manager mentors and trains students interested in sculpture, woodworking, set and props construction, etc. as well as helps individual students conceptualize, plan and execute the technical fabrication of their projects. The Shop Manager leads a series of non-credit bearing student workshops, develops and leads equipment training and safety programs for students and faculty, manages shop supplies, tool maintenance and purchasing, the material re-sale program, and fine arts facilities improvements. Working with the Shop Coordinator and Exhibitions Preparator, student staff, and contract prepartators, the Manager oversees and implements the installation of Logan Center exhibits. In addition, the Shop Manager works with the TAPS Technical Director to support student set and props construction. The Shop Manager works closely with the Associate Director of Programs and Student Affairs in the Department of Visual Arts and the Technical Director of Theater and Performance Studies, as well as, the Associate Director of Operations and Facilities, Associate Director of Arts Technology and Digital Media, and the Logan Center Exhibitions Curator within the Logan Center.
