The Instructional Multimedia Technologist will support all facets of the E-Learning’s Office function, with its primary goal of supporting media creation and deployment for online and face-to-face courses. Working with other E-Learning staff, The Instructional Multimedia Technologist will assist faculty in all academic divisions, creating print, video, and other digital media for online and face-to-face courses, and conducting both educational technology workshops and one-on-one educational technology consultations. Additionally, the Instructional Multimedia Technologist will provide technical support to the AU community on the university’s instructional technology suite. This position consults and problem-solves one-on-one with faculty and staff, with responsibility for instructional design and multimedia design, development, deployment, and management. Additionally, the incumbent will assist the Assistant Director in matters of technology evaluation, course design, technology workshops, and learning management system support.
Ongoing professional development is necessary given the nature of this position.

A Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Multimedia Design, Educational Technology, or related field required. Equivalent combination of experience, education and training would also be considered.
3 to 5 years of professional experience working in higher education with an emphasis on multimedia design, instructional technology or educational technology
Expertise in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Premier or Final Cut Pro. Experience working with the Google Tool Suite, a Learning Management System such as Blackboard, Camtasia and MS Office or similar
Strong customer service ethic and collaborative skills
Ability to work across a broad-based constituency and demonstrate professionalism
Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to obtain and convey service information to people of varying levels of technical knowledge and responsibility is essential
