Under supervision of the Producer Director, the Graphics Video Editor Specialist develops digital communications for the purpose of communicating knowledge, and designs and produces instructional videos and digital media. The incumbent creates original content, designs and produces content for online instruction and education. The Graphics Video Editor Specialist uses skills as a seasoned, experienced digital communications professional to produce, design, and lay out moderately complex video productions. The incumbent demonstrates a full understanding of industry practices and organizational policies and procedures and demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
The Graphics Video Editor Specialist is a member of a studio-based production team that creates online instructional videos for UCSC Extension and Scout from University of California. Incumbents assist a creative team along the entire workflow of the production pipeline creating educational videos for online learning. Incumbents specialize in production and postproduction, providing expertise in videography, video editing, graphics and motion graphics production. Incumbents are expected to show advanced video design principles and the ability to take creative direction in a fast paced, collaborative team environment with considerations for timeliness and budget limitations.

Primary work location is UCSC Silicon Valley in Santa Clara, California.
Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent combination of experience and/or professional training.
Along with performing the full range of responsibilities, the Graphics and Video Editor Specialist possesses broad video knowledge; analyzes video problems and issues of diverse scope and determines solutions.
Experienced professional who can demonstrate how to apply video theories and put them into practice with in-depth understanding of visual communications.
Demonstrates a full understanding of industry practices and organization policies and procedures.
Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
