Provide management and supervision of all production sound resources for the School of Film and Television.
Typically a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent experience. Incumbent will be expected to continue upgrading knowledge and skills.
Minimum 3 years' experience in motion picture and video location sound recording, sound editing and mixing. Some knowledge of the film projection and editorial equipment.
Ability to work effectively providing support and consultation; make decisions in a fast paced, complex environment in which skills and knowledge are utilized to resolve or coordinate the resolution of problems and projects; hire, train and supervise work study students and TA's. Ability to accommodate technical operations and maintenance assessing problems as they relate to the equipment and facility. Effectively respond to faculty and student needs in conjunction with the needs of the department.
Exceptional organizational and analytical skills to provide consultation and assistance in the area of lighting/grip and projection booth applications. Effective interpersonal and communication skills to relate with faculty, staff, and students competently.
Demonstrated knowledge of production sound equipment, its use, repair and the servicing procedures of professional audio equipment. Basic principles of the electronics that underlie the operation of the equipment used.
Demonstrated computer competency and preferably knowledgeable of word processing, spreadsheets and databases. Knowledge of computer software, hardware applications; and remaining current with industry trends and technology in these areas.
