Position Description ~~Notice of Position Vacancy University of Illinois Division of Intercollegiate Athletics Position: Assistant Coach, Football Coaches Video 12 Month service basis, 100% Academic Professional Appointment Primary Function: Under the direction of the Assistant Coach Football Video assist with all technology, video and editing projects, daily cutups and video/slide content for position meetings, recruiting, and video analysis. Responsibilities: 1. Independently provide the Assistant Coach for Football Video with as many as 6-7 highlight videos per week during the season. Provide self-edited practice and game film to coaches and Assistant Coach for Football Video. 2. Independently film practice and load the raw football footage into XOS editing system. After marking, cutting and editing re-distribute to the Coaching staff to watch with players. 3. Prepare video equipment before every practice and game ensuring proper handling and maintenance of all equipment. 4. Troubleshoot and identify any problems that may occur with video equipment and coordinate service repair. 5. Capture, create, and maintain security of all videotaping/editing for in season and out of season practices and games, and high school recruiting video database. 6. Create and manage video content on coaches/football social media sites (Twitter, Facebook, You Tube). 7. Independently create and edit highlights from practice and game clips for coaching staff to present to clinics across the country and for the use of current players. 8. Work in collaboration with Big Ten Network, Fox and ESPN for the production of featured network television shows and special content. 9. Oversee inventory control of video equipment and supplies. 10. Responsible for the internet exchange of video content with opponents/NFL. The Big Ten and NFL office in New York, every Sunday via the Dragon Fly platform. 11. Oversee student video support staff, hiring, scheduling, assigning and evaluating work. 12. This position requires working long hours and weekends 13. Maintain knowledge of and compliance with, specific NCAA, Big Ten Conference, and institution rules.

Education Bachelor’s degree in Communications or related field is required.
Experience Required • At least one to two years experience in athletic video experience, including, but not limited to video production or editing. • Strong background in technology and video applications is required
Preferred • Experience producing motivational, recruiting, social media, graphic design projects as well as videotaping and editing football practices and games is preferred. • Experience managing and directing a student workforce
Preferred: Proper knowledge of Sony FS7 and Cannon 7D cameras essential, Dragon Fly and XOS platform, and knowledge of football. Ability to work in a team-orientated and fast-paced environment Ability to meet short deadlines
