The Digital Learning Coordinator supports the instructional programs through eLearning, library and multimedia; identifying appropriate resources for students and teachers utilizing digital learning, library and multimedia resources; selecting appropriate items in support of online classroom instruction; and performing clerical functions related to collection, processing, circulation, maintenance, and inventory of eLearning & multimedia tools and equipment.
This position collaborates with faculty and instructional design staff to provide, promote and support the use of rapid development applications for the integration of digital content and multimedia, thereby expanding upon the institution's mission of innovative, experiential teaching and learning.
This position is eligible for overtime.
Essential Functions/Typical Duties
Leads the service in eLearning and Multimedia areas:
System administration support for eLearning tools for content creation and collaboration for the Canvas learning management system and educational technology tools.
Collect program and reporting data needed to seek and maintain state and professional licensure board authorizations and membership in the State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (SARA).
Maintains a working knowledge of state and federal distance education regulations and policies, completing independent research and analysis, clearly communicating authorization status.
Advise students about the online offerings in various programs at the college; monitor and proactively respond to students inquiries; maintain confidential student records.
Participates in providing workshops, presentations, meetings, etc.
Monitors email requests for media production projects, discusses creative aspects of production requests with clients, develops production project outlines, etc.
Assists in the operation, staffing, and training of the Tech Hub desk and Multimedia Desk; shares in the daily rotation coverage of both desks.
Assists faculty with basic Learning Management System questions and/or directs requestors to the eLearning resources.
Collaborates with eLearning staff to support eLearning tools for content creation and collaboration.
Designs, collects, analyzes and reports out department data; prepares annual reports.
Remains current on new technology, methodology and equipment.
Maintains ongoing operation of the library's public service desks:
Assists in performing circulation functions using the automated library system including holds, fines, renewals patron records, etc.
Assists library users and other library units with locating, retrieving, and checking out specific library materials.
Monitors student activities and computer use.
Assists in ordering supplies and equipment.
Assists the Manager in coordinating, scheduling, coverage, and cross-training among the various service desks.
Share in the "building/emergency lead" responsibilities.
Performs opening and closing procedures when needed.
Provide Multimedia Services equipment support:
Assists in providing support to Multimedia equipment requests during College hours and also outside of College hours.
Assists in providing support for equipment set-up and tear-down during events; monitors equipment during the course of the event and ensures things work properly.
Maintains equipment, such as laptops, cameras, projectors and presentation systems.
Assists in the maintenance of manuals, computerized scheduling, delivery and retrieval systems for media equipment, media materials, and rental materials.
Assists in providing video recording of events in the LMC, Collaboratory and eLearning.
Assists in setting up Video Conferencing in the LMC rooms for Bellevue College staff.
Bachelor's degree from accredited institution in a technical, business, or computer related field
1 year working experience in library, office settings, or education environment
Knowledge of technology used in system integration, equipment used in video/audio technology, digital media, classroom technology, visual communication, etc.
Knowledge of or able to learn audio equipment used for live events
Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision or instruction
Effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing
Able to work in a fast-pace and collaborative environment with diverse employees and customer/client groups, including the customers' various levels of understanding of technology and communication
Experience in reviewing and analyzing state and federal regulations for online learning
Ability to convey complex information using clear, simple language
Proficient using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Access.
Knowledge of web-based software applications and instructional media/equipment
Experience in operation, events coordination, and customer service
Knowledge of general maintenance of multi-platform and video equipment, including videoconferencing
Effective time management and record keeping skills
Able to perform audio-visual equipment set-ups and take-downs
Able to transport audio-visual equipment/materials each weighing up to 50 lbs
Able to travel to different offices/classrooms/auditoriums in the Main Campus in a timely manner
Able to work non-standard hours/days for special events
