At the direction of the Director of Annual Giving, assist with Miss Porter's School’s efforts to successfully secure unrestricted annual funding by executing strategy to increase annual giving dollars and participation from alumnae, faculty, staff, and other individual friends of Miss Porter’s School.
Actively participate in strategic planning and reporting meetings. Work with the Director of Operations and the Assistant Director of Donor Relations to create reports for data analysis of programs and inform strategic decision-making.
Manage class fundraising efforts for assigned reunion classes. Identify, recruit and train class representatives and provide ongoing support for those volunteers. Work with the Director of Annual Giving to set class goals, provide appropriate reporting, and work with administrative support to provide ongoing day to day tactical support for class volunteers.
Train and support volunteers in their use of the Volunteer Management System (VMS), including the execution of frequent conference calls, presentations, and any other support that is deemed useful. Maintain active and regular contact with all class volunteers, including creating and distributing the monthly Volunteer E-newsletter and maintaining the volunteer webpage. Frequently monitor and engage class volunteers to ensure successful progress with their assignments.
Responsible for coordinating frequent data updates of the VMS to ensure timely and accurate information and reporting is available for volunteers. Act as the primary liaison with the platform developer and be responsible for solving problems, fixing issues and managing questions about the platform.
At the direction of the Director of Annual Giving, manage direct mail and online giving components of the annual giving program. Work with the Associate Director of Communications and the Digital Media Strategist to create and distribute appropriate content for print and digital solicitations.
Develop and manage a student program to create habits of annual giving. Work closely with the Student Second Head of School and the Second Head’s Committee for Alumnae Development to support and promote the message of philanthropy to the community. This includes, but is not limited to the Senior Class Gift, Farmington Give Day, and the 100 Days Party. With the Offices of Alumnae and Donor Relations, work to foster a relationship between the students and alumnae by providing opportunities for engagement and interaction.
Assist with Alumnae and Development and campus wide events as necessary.
Manage a portfolio of emerging leadership annual fund donors. Cultivate, solicit, and steward 20-30 annual fund donors ($1,000+ donors) annually. Personally visit and solicit assigned prospects whenever possible.
Bachelor’s degree required. One to three years direct experience in an annual giving program or related advancement experience.
Demonstrated cultural competency, ability to work with diverse populations, commitment to equity and inclusion.
Working knowledge of Raiser’s Edge and understanding of evolving technologies that support philanthropic fundraising. Experience with RE NXT a plus.
Experience with direct mail, personal solicitation, and managing fundraising volunteers. Ability to lead and motivate individuals and teams.
Proven ability to lead projects to completion; and the ability to plan, set and achieve meaningful objectives.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Proven ability to maintain meaningful relationships with direct reports, volunteers and donors.
Ability to work some evenings and weekends.
