Department/College Description The College:The B. Thomas Golisano College of Computing and Information Sciences is the largest of RITs nine colleges and has an enrollment of over 3000 undergraduate students and 800 graduate students. The college, with over 140 faculty members, is housed in a modern facility equipped with numerous teaching and research laboratories. The college is home to the departments of Computer Science, Computing Security, Information Sciences and Technologies, Software Engineering, the School of Interactive Games and Media, and a college-wide PhD program, providing many opportunities for cooperation and research collaboration within and beyond the college.
The School:The School of Interactive Games and Media (IGM) has 28 full-time faculty and is committed to excellence in teaching and research. We offer undergraduate Bachelor of Science degrees in Game Design and Development and New Media Interactive Design as well as a Master of Science and a BS/MS in Game Design and Development. IGM serves nearly 800 undergraduate students (including mandatory co-op experience) and about 50 graduate students. IGM is currently ranked fifth by the Princeton Review nationally in Game Design and Development programs at the undergraduate level and seventh at the graduate level. IGM works closely with RITs MAGIC (Media, Arts, Games, Interaction & Creativity) Center, which is a university-wide effort to foster a wide range of collaboration, research, and publishing in games and digital media. The MAGIC Center is comprised of both a university research & development center and an independent game publishing studio.

The School of Interactive Games and Media is growing significantly, and applications are invited for multiple Assistant Professor Positions starting in January 2019 or August 2019.
Successful applicants will contribute to IGM and the college via scholarship, research, as well as teaching and mentoring of undergraduate and graduate students. Successful applicants will have a passion for games and interactive media development, and value and engage in cross-disciplinary work across the college and university. We seek individuals who will contribute to RIT's core values, honor code, and diversity commitment.
The Assistant Professor will contribute to the academic mission of the School of Interactive Games and Media with respect to teaching, research and scholarship, and service. We will consider candidates with scholarship and research expertise in all areas of computational media with respect to game and interactive media development, including but not limited to: artificial intelligence; VR/AR and real-time computer graphics; programming pedagogy; game engines and systems; game design and development; web development; physical computing; aesthetic/creative computing; digital audio/sound design.
