The Sports Video Director is responsible for the visual components of a sporting event production.The ideal candidate for this position will have strong communication skills and advanced knowledge of television technologies and standards. Candidates must be comfortable giving verbal direction to a production team to facilitate the look of the sports production. The Sports Video Director must be able to work in high-pressure situations requiring quick calls and on-the-fly changes.RESPONSIBILITIES:Live direction of cameras, graphics and replayIntercom communication with production team to instruct them through productionProblem solve and troubleshoot in a fast-paced high-pressure environment Communicate directorial cues and commands to production team GENERAL SKILLS:Understanding of directorial cues and commandsKnowledge of video signal operations to ensure quality control of in venue operationsStrong understanding of live sports productionIn-depth knowledge of football, basketball, volleyball, gymnastics, softball and baseball including rules of the gamesMust be self-motivated, able to work independently, and as a part of a teamMust be reliable and show up on time for scheduled call timeREQUIREMENTS:A Bachelor Degree and 3 years of experience.
