This is a full-time, benefits eligible position and the hours for this position are Monday through Thursday from 12:30pm - 8:00pm and 8:30am - 5:00pm on Fridays, with nights and weekends on occasions.
This position serves as the primary contact for all Technology Services Center customers and works in collaboration with the Information Technology department to ensure customer satisfaction. The Technician will respond to phone, e-mail, and personnel requests for technical support. Responsibilities include maintaining, analyzing, troubleshooting and repairing computer systems, hardware and peripherals through documenting, tracking and monitoring problems to ensure a timely resolution.
Troubleshooting technical questions and enter tickets for any tickets that cannot be resolved. Collect pertinent information required by tier III to handle the escalated tickets;
Support classroom and computer lab technology;
Set up and support technology during campus events, including all Audio/Visual;
Set up and deploy new equipment;
Keep workstations up-to-date and working effectively;
Continuously strive to learn and broaden technical expertise in all areas supported;
May be required to move computers and other technology, including televisions;
May be required to climb short ladders;
Other duties as assigned.
Associates degree or Certificate in Computer Science, Business Technology or related field; Previous experience in a technical support role troubleshooting Microsoft windows;
Basic knowledge of networking;
Knowledge of Windows and Mac OS troubleshooting;
Excellent Organizational, Time Management and Communication Skills;
A+ Certification is desirable;
Knowledge of Audio Video equipment is desirable.
