POSITION SUMMARY: The primary focus of this position is to provide a technical support to the Sales team. The technical support mainly consists of analysing and qualifying the customer needs, designing and costing the appropriate solution, as well as presenting and defending it in front of the client if necessary. Substantial expertise is required in engineering and new technologies as well as understanding of the company’s global organization and relationships between the business units.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: - Gather market and customer requirements -Analysis and qualification of customer technical needs in coordination with the Sales and Engineering teams - Design of the functional technical solution(s) with the support of the experts from all concerned Operations Departments - Definition of the associated quotation(s) - Support of the Sales and Engineering teams for the proposal defence to the client. - Definition of a functional engineering document detailing the customer solution(s) to be deployed - Description and validation of the technical appendix(es) of the customer contract(s) with the support of Legal team. - Presales management of the major customer accounts. - Promotion of new Globecast products during national and international exhibitions - Participation to periodic customer account operations meetings. - Work cross-functionally within the region and the company including – Marketing, Operations, Technical and Financial - Perform other duties as assigned to meet departmental and company needs.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS: -Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or IT, or equivalent practical experience -Good knowledge and experience in the following technical domains: -Media signal processing and management (Play-out, VOD, MPEG, OTT, DVB, …) -Terrestrial transmission (IP, MPLS, DTM, SDH, …) -Satellite transmission (earth stations and space segment) -IT general skills -Good knowledge in financial business plan (CAPEX, OPEX, ROI, …) -Very good customer relationship with high listening sense and good negotiation ability -Team player -ability to coordinate and manage -Strong analytical mind -Good communications and writing skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS -Experience working with content management systems -Demonstrated knowledge of broadcast management, technology, equipment, facilities, and production for major commercial and cable TV networks -Great blend of product/business mindset and technical expertise -International professional experience -Second language (French or Spanish) appreciated
