WKU-NPR/PBS, seeks a Part-Time Audio Engineer Technician to for Radio and Television. The position works with the production staff in visualizing, audio acquisition, producing, and editing/post-production mixing of music content for on-air and contract productions for WKU-NPR/PBS, WKU, and external clients.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
The following duties are customary for this position, but are not to be construed as all-inclusive. Duties may be added, deleted, and assigned based on management discretion and institutional needs.
Assist by setting mics, recording live mix and editing content for WKU PBS/NPR.
Audio producer for remote productions in multiple locations.
Responsible for live music productions, editing with AbletonLive
Mix live audio for live music sessions for both PA, broadcasting (TV/radio), and internet distribution
Knowledge and Skills Considered Essential for Success:
Must have demonstrated skills with television and radio studios and remote (field) cameras and microphones.
Must have strong audio acquisition skills
Must have demonstrated skill with studio, remote (live) and field production sound.
Must be able to adapt to changing and sometimes environmentally difficult work environments and situations.
Ability to work with university staff, students, and clients in a positive and collegial manner.
Bachelor's degree in a field related to position responsibilities OR minimum of 2 years of experience with acquiring live music audio for broadcast distribution
Must have proven experience in capturing and editing live music for television, radio, and live audiences.
Ability to travel out-of-state
Minimum of 2 years of experience with AbletonLive or other Digital Audio Workstation equivalent
Valid driver's license
Hourly Rate: $20.00
