The Landscape Architecture Program in the School of Planning, Design & Construction (SPDC) at Michigan State University (MSU) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor starting in August 2019. Established in 1898, the Landscape Architecture program balances ideology, design, technology, art and science toward creating a resilient world.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach core landscape architecture courses and will demonstrate actual or potential scholarly research activity that advances the interdisciplinary focus of SPDC. We are especially seeking candidates who can address emerging issues in the Landscape Architecture discipline in combination with a curriculum emphasizing professional education in landscape architecture. The successful candidate will contribute to the integration of digital media and graphic communication as integral elements in our curriculum, particularly within design and construction. The candidate will also engage in appropriate service.
At a minimum, candidates must have at least a professional landscape architecture degree; a PhD is required by the position start date, August 16, 2019. Ability to teach within the Landscape Architecture core (design and construction) is essential. The successful candidate will demonstrate actual or potential scholarly research activity that advances the interdisciplinary focus of SPDC.
Preference will be given to candidates who already have a Ph.D. degree.
