The Network Operations Support person will join a team focused on the technology utilized in receiving, processing, storage, and delivery of digital media assets in a post-production environment. The chosen candidate will provide operational support and recommend improvements to these systems and workflows. This is a senior-level technical position, requiring experience supporting a complex environment. The candidate should demonstrate proficiency in configuring, deploying, and securing hardware and software on Windows, Mac, and Linux platforms. In addition, the candidate should demonstrate an aptitude for configuring and troubleshooting linear feeds, non-linear editing clients, video transcoding software, file transfer applications, and storage systems optimized for digital assets.
Responsibilities - Maintenance and repair of all technical equipment in Studio, Network Operations Center, and Media Ingest facilities - Extensive knowledge of baseband audio/video, digital audio/video, and IP networking systems is necessary - In-depth understanding of video network architecture framework /broadcast/broadband/IPTV video workflow - Available as needed 24/7 to provide timely response to emergency network off-air situations, equipment issues, etc. and participate in on-call rotation - Establish system requirements and recommend improvements in process and technology - Adhere to change control process for all technology changes, updating diagrams, workflow drawings, and project documentation - Function as a team member and service provider in a high-availability environment - Carry out and plan preventative maintenance to ensure service levels are met - Troubleshoot incidents on server and client systems (Windows and macOS) - Coordinate and communicate with impacted clients
Qualifications - BS Degree in Electrical Engineering (EE), Computer Science (CS), or related discipline average 5 years prior experience; CCNA preferred - Minimum 5 years’ experience and working knowledge of file systems and storage solutions, asset management systems, file based workflows, transcoding, and media ingest - Experience with Imagine ADC automation, Harmonic Spectrum, Avid, Vantage, Baton, Evertz equipment/systems - Highly organized with strong interpersonal, client relations, and communication skills - Ability to communicate technical information to a variety of audiences and skill levels - Experience working with corporate IT organization on initiatives, upgrades, and system migrations - Strong knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems - Basic understanding of Linux Operating systems
