Scope of Work:
Perform site surveys in accordance with Building Industry Consulting Service International (BICSI) industry standards and Unified Facilities Criteria for the infrastructure not supported under the Navy's Navy/Marine Corps Internet (NMCI) contract. Provide recommendations and designs on proposed Outside Plant (OSP) and Inside Plant (ISP) cable infrastructure implementations.
Install, label, test, and certify to BISCI industry standards, maintain and repair all cable plant facilities to operational requirements. Documentation such as cable plant design documentation, cable plant upgrade design drawings, cable plant as-built drawings, maintenance and repair status reports, copper and fiber optic cable installation test results.
Install and maintain PNS-DET Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), Digital Signage, Internet Protocol Closed Circuit Television (IP CCTV), Community Antenna TV (CATV) system to include RG-6 and hard line cable as well balancing of amplifier equipment.
Support ongoing submarine/support barge moves to include the installation, removal, and reinstallation of copper and fiber optic cabling from pier side locations to designated communications points on the submarine/barge. Installation of copper and fiber optic cable for required data drops within the barge.
Attend meetings with code 109.13 representatives for planning of future building moves, building remodels, or any projects in the future that will involve the running of any communications cables, be able to for panning and be able to communicate with 109.13 what will be needed for any future jobs and be able to build a detailed asset list needed for any jobs. Installation of various cable types such as CAT5e and CAT6 twisted pair, coaxial cable, and also single and multi-mode fiber optic cable to BICSI standards. Installation, termination, labeling, testing, and documenting of backbone and horizontal cable implementations (CAT5e, CAT6, and Fiber Optic cable) to BICSI standards in buildings, trailers, barges, and underground duct bank infrastructure.
Installation of cable pathways to include cable trays, EMT, inner duct, J-hooks, D-rings, and wire mold to BISCI standard. Dressing and routing of cable into telecommunications cabinets/closets, modular furniture to BISCI standard. Support ongoing submarine/barge moves to include the installation, removal, and reinstallation of copper and fiber optic cabling from pier side locations to designated communications points on the submarine/barge. Install/mount RFID readers. Install/mount network cabinets. Install/mount wireless access points (AP). The contractor will supply Code 109 local supervision with weekly and monthly reports with updates of what jobs are worked daily and the hours of all contracted cable pullers
Ability to terminate single and multi-mode fiber using a fusion splicer.
Ability to use an Optical Time-Domain Reflectometer (OTDR).
Ability to use tools such as hammer drills and core drills.
Proficiency at reading, creating and manipulating CAD drawings.
Proficiency at creating and maintaining network drawings, as-build and other documentation.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and move up to 75 pounds.
Must be able to see and distinguish different colors
Extensive knowledge of OSP and ISP cabling.
ARC Flash and Confined Spaces trained and qualified.
OSHA 10 and EM 385 Safety certified
