Description The Institute for Business & Information Technology (IBIT) division is seeking qualified candidates for a full-time tenure track faculty position for the Network Services & Computing Systems (NSCOM) program. The instructor shall perform duties and functions under the general direction of the Dean of IBIT division. Being a faculty member of NSCOM, we recognize the need for continuous professional development and industry certification. Bellevue College provides funding for training and certification for skills related to this position.
COMPREHENSIVE WAGE AND BENEFIT PACKAGE Annual salary is based on a 176-day contract with a minimum of $60,951.40; beginning salary will be determined by the assessment of the candidate's education and related experience. New hires cannot be placed above $65,354.92 unless exceptional circumstances prevail.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT The IBIT divisiondelivers professional/technical education, programs, credentials, and transfer-pathway opportunities for diverse student populations. IBIT prepares students for success in current and future careers, engages in innovative grants, and collaborates with a variety of partners to meet the educational and workforce needs of our community in the areas of business, information technology, and digital media. The Institute houses a statewide Center of Excellence for Information and Computing Technology, pursues grant-based opportunities, and is developing applied baccalaureate degrees.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/TYPICAL DUTIES Teaching and Students Teach courses that may include, but not limited to: system administration, server technology environments, PC hardware and repair concepts and tools, networking and security topics Foster a positive, caring, equitable learning environment where diversity and pluralism are advanced Promote teaching and learning excellence in the NSCOM program Assess student learning outcomes in a variety of assessment methods Promote program and recruit students from a culturally diverse population Provide ongoing guidance in student career development Participate in advising students and improving student success Currency and Relevancy Maintain current knowledge and skills in networking and system administration Maintain currency and relevancy of curriculum and program via trainings, professional conferences, certification, etc Participate in on-going curriculum development, revision, and implementation that incorporates diverse perspectives Community Develop and recruit advisory committee members and meet with potential employers Consult and/ or collaborate with colleagues at other colleges, businesses, or professional organizations Represent the college in community events or statewide inter-institutional initiatives Department and College Governance Participate in program activities, such as mentoring adjunct faculty and others Participate in program, division and college governance Perform other reasonable duties and functions that may be assigned by the President, the Provost, the Division Chair or Program Chair
QUALIFICATIONS/CORE COMPETENCIES MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution Washington State Vocational Certificate or will become vocational certificated which requires at least 2 years of applicable industry experience within the last 5 years Must be available to teach classes on a variety of days and times, including evenings Current industry first-aid/CPR certificate or acquire within 90 days of initial employment Certifications such as CompTIA A+, CompTIA N+, CompTIA Security+, MCP, CEH, CHFI, AWS Foundations, etc. Substantial, recent full-time experience in the industry and/or teaching experience in IT related areas.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to teach using multiple modalities in various instructional settings, including traditional, hybrid, and on-line course development and instruction within an evolving discipline Experience teaching, developing curriculum, and program management in post-secondary setting Demonstrate understanding of and active interest in current trends and approaches in information technology fields Demonstrate commitment to working with students and colleagues from diverse backgrounds and academic readiness Experience with Network infrastructure troubleshooting, repair techniques and solutions Experience with client and server operating systems technologies, roles, and network environments, including active directory Experience with management, administration of virtualized hardware such as VMware or Hyper-V environments Must possess or obtain certifications such as MCSA, MCT, and AWS Solution Architect within 2 years of hire date
