This position is responsible for directly supporting the Technical Managers as an audio-visual programmer. The candidate will be responsible for Enterprise standardization of Audio Visual (AV) integrated rooms. The candidate will play an active role in the design and installation of small to large-scale AV systems to include video teleconferencing, sound systems, lighting, displays, and Command-and-Control operation centers.
The candidate will work with the engineering staff to develop and maintain network requirements, architectures, and designs. Candidate must also understand how AMX and Crestron programming cause/effect impacts on the overall audiovisual systems. Must be able to establish templates and program to intuitive user interfaces.
This position has some flexibility to work remotely depending on experience.
Read and interpret AutoCAD line drawings
Read and interpret provided Scopes of Work
Work with the client/project manager to develop an easy to use Graphical User Interface.
Provide control system code according to company standard
Create programming-related documentation
Maintain and update programming and code in an installed system
Provide phone support to aid in the system debug and system commissioning process
Work with the training department to create Quick Reference Guides (brief user instruction set) for control systems
Coordinate delivery and receipt of control system deliverables
Perform commissioning and acceptance testing of code
Provide technical assistance to installation and service departments as required
Maintain control code in version control repository
Travel to various job sites required
Professional Skills and Abilities:
Programming certification in Crestron (CCMP, CCMP-S, CCMP-G). Required/desired knowledge, Minimum five years experience with audio-visual control programming.
CTS (Certified Technology Specialist) a plus
Crestron Simple+ programming and Simple# basic knowledge is required
Crestron Digital Media and NVX configuration and best practices of deployment is a required
A demonstrable understanding of AV Systems integration techniques
Skilled in the use of graphics programs for GUI development
MS Office – proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, and Project
Working knowledge of DSP programs, and the ability to write configuration files for systems. Biamp DSP programming is a must.
The position of Control System Programmer requires the following attributes: technical capability, professionalism, self-motivation, self-discipline, focus, and attention to detail and punctuality.
The Control System Programmer is required to possess high-level communications skills to support the necessary interaction with internal departments and external customers.
Must be able to maintain the following attributes while under pressure from deadlines: technical capability, professionalism, self-motivation, self-discipline, focus, and attention to detail.
Understanding of computer networking and troubleshooting a plus
Understands time pressure for on-time project completion
