Choate, Hall & Stewart seeks an experienced licensing and technology transactions attorney with a minimum of seven years’ experience to work in its Business Department. The individual should be well-versed in a broad range of software and data transactions and commercial contracts. Our Private Equity and Business & Technology practices include working with emerging and established companies and venture capital and private equity investors and their portfolio companies in a range of industries, including enterprise and SaaS software and services, FinTech, HealthIT, internet and digital media.
Extensive experience in strategic licensing and general commercial licensing transactions for technology companies; strategic alliances and joint development agreements; open source issues; and due diligence in private equity and venture capital transactions is required. Experience advising clients on a range of compliance strategies regarding privacy, data protection, international data transfers and cybersecurity is a plus. Qualified candidates should have outstanding academic credentials; very strong drafting and writing skills; excellent client relationship and interpersonal skills; and ability to manage significant workflow, including more junior members of a team. Large law firm and/or in-house experience with a large company is required. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in engineering/computer science.
No portable book of business is required, and a flexible work arrangement may be provided for the right candidate.
