Directs all aspects of the medical equipment repair program to include but not limited to strategic, operational and fiscal planning and process execution of the Biomedical Engineering Department; identifies, develops and implements cost of service reduction strategies related to technology assessment, planning and management activities for Harris County Hospital District (HCHD); provides direct oversight and guidance to the Property/Asset Management Department and co-develops process improvement strategies for lifecycle accountability and management of assets and maintenance significant medical equipment throughout Harris County Hospital District. Directs all aspects of the patient and staff television maintenance program to include budgeting, planning, staffing, and effective and efficient utilization of District resources to better serve the patient satisfaction of services rendered.
Minimum Qualifications 10 YRS CLINICAL OR BIOMEDICAL ENG OR RELATED FIELD; BACHELOR OF SCIENCE OR EQUIVALENT DEGREE, MASTERS DEGREE PREFERRED
10 YEARS ADVANCED BIOMEDICAL EQUIPMENT REPAIR
5+ YEARS AS BMET III OR HIGHER
Special Requirements Communication Skills: Above Average Verbal (Heavy Public Contract), Exceptional Verbal (e.g., Public Speaking) , Writing /Composing Correspondence/Reports.
Analytical, P.C., Research, Statistical, Typing (35 wpm) and Word Processing
Advanced Education/Training: Advanced Leadership/Management Training, Technology Management or 5 years equivalent work experience
Demonstrated Knowledge of JCAHO Survey experience required; Demonstrates knowledge of Asset/Property Management Experience
