Co-Mo Electric is looking for a Network Engineer to support our subsidiary, Co-Mo Connect. Co-Mo Connect is a state-of-the art fiber to the premise network offering triple-play services to thousands of homes and businesses covering 2,400 square miles of territory bridging the digital divide in a collection of communities in rural central Missouri. Operating since 2011, Co-Mo Connect offers all its subscribers superior speeds of up to 1Gigabit/sec symmetric speeds with a network that is among the first of its kind in Rural America.
The Network Engineer at Co-Mo will be responsible for the continued design and development of a highly available, high performance network and its associated configuration specifics for the core infrastructure supporting the rural high-speed triple-play regional fiber to the premise (FTTP) service offerings. The Network Engineer ensures design meets the ongoing performance, security and availability requirements of the network and its subscribers.
How you'll make your mark
You'll work with senior leadership to develop a roadmap and ongoing strategy for maintaining and optimizing the network and improving its capabilities for future services and business growth
You'll develop ongoing network design, configuration and implementation plans/requirements for a regional network supporting high speed internet, voice and television.
You'll perform network performance and capacity planning and develop a methodology for producing metrics relating to the availability, health and performance of the network.
You'll maintain all documentation of configuration, design methodology and network diagrams
You'll provide Level 4 technical support to the Network Operations team as needed to troubleshoot issues or resolve problems with the network, its services or performance
You'll prepare troubleshooting procedures for the Network Operations team as needed to ensure fast recovery from common issues
What you'll bring to the table
You have a bachelor's degree in information technology or related field or equivalent experience
You have a JNCIP-SP certification
You have a minimum of 3 years of experience in service provider network engineering, operations and design
You have expertise in Juniper MX Series carrier router platform hardware and the Junos Network Operating system
You have design and troubleshooting expertise in IPv4, IPv6, High bandwidth IP Multicast routing/protocols to support IPTV, Unicast Routing protocols, MPLS, BGP4, and carrier ethernet
You have expertise in Quality of Service (QoS), and network monitoring via SNMP
You have expertise in Network Availability and Performance Metrics
You have expertise in Layer 3 ethernet switching
You have expertise in carrier network security best practices and configuration
You have experience in the development and use of lab environments for testing network changes
You have experience in greenfield network builds, network technology migrations and upgrades
You have excellent communication skills and team-oriented approach to work
Experience in datacenter design and greenfield implementation a plus
