The Center for Digital Education is a new department within Olin Business School that will assist in the design, creation, and development of Olin’s online programs, hybrid programs, and digital learning resources. The Multimedia Developer will collaborate with faculty to design and produce dynamic course media, primarily in the form of graphics and interactive animations,that adhere to best practices and ensure the highest quality of learning for Olin students.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Media Design - Work in collaboration with the faculty and instructional designer to design media that best serves the course, content, and student audience. This pre-production process might include; ideation, storyboarding, and media prototyping.
Graphic Design - Design and create stunning visual designs for both web and video that may include graphics for course branding materials, complex visuals for slides, infographics, graphics for use in video animations and video intros, etc.
Motion Graphics - Create dynamic motion graphics for course videos which might include the animation of complex charts and data, illustrative animations, character/simulation animation, title sequences, whiteboard-style animations, UI/software animations, lower-thirds, transitions, and typographic animations.
Interactive Media Production - Work with faculty and the instructional designer to create interactive media (for example using Articulate 360) to engage students and provide integrated learning through the embedded activities and assessments.
Project Management - Managing media projects and other priorities simultaneously, expertly keeping track of tasks, stakeholders and deadlines. It’s imperative that media projects be managed effectively in order to provide prompt content delivery for students. Project updates should be communicated to the Media Production Manager with any concerns being made known.
Media Delivery and Distribution - Work with the instructional designer and digital platform team to ensure that media is exported, uploaded, and linked in the correct locations so that all required parties have access.
Usability & Accessibility - All media content must meet usability and accessibility guidelines (ie. captions, transcripts, etc.) and adhere to the Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act.

A Bachelor’s Degree and three years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and related experience to equal 8 years.
Candidates will need to submit Portfolio and Full Work Samples
Strong knowledge of graphic design production including, among other things, typography, composition and layout, color theory, photography and digital media.
Creative thinking with the ability to execute ideas, as well as, a deep understanding of visual communication.
Extensive knowledge of the Adobe Creative suite and eLearning authoring tools such as Articulate 360 and Adobe Captivate.
Familiarity with web design principles and application in an LMS such as Canvas.
Extensive knowledge of and experience doing 2D motion graphics
Ability to stay current on emerging and new digital trends in graphic design and motion graphics
Ability to work in a highly dynamic and collaborative team environment as a positive and engaged professional
Excellent attention to detail
Excellent project management skills including the ability to work on multiple ongoing projects with staggered deadlines
Excellent organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written
REQUIRED PROGRAM PROFICIENCIES:
Non-Linear Editors: Premiere Pro
Animation & VFX: After Effects, Blackmagic Fusion,
Interactive Design: e.g. Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate
5+ years of work experience in addition to a Bachelor’s degree in Graphics Design
Familiarity with game design and gamification techniques
Familiarity with project management tools
Experience creating educational media including screen-capture, webcasts, podcasts, talking head videos, etc.
Extensive video and audio editing
Still Photography and photo editing
The hiring range for this position is $48,087 - $62,517 annually.
