Denison University seeks an Educational Media Technologist to serve on our Educational Technology Services team. Provide a wide range of media production services and support to the Denison community for technology-enhanced events and assist with the provision of and training on media equipment for faculty, students, and staff.
Reporting to the Media Technology Supervisor, you will…
install and troubleshoot media equipment, including software, hardware and networking issues; monitor and respond to email and Help Desk requests while working collaboratively with ITS team members to deliver excellent service and support;
support digital competencies development across the University and envision ways that media services can further enhance learning and teaching, including in-depth video and audio training for course projects, and develop best practices for recorded presentations;
manage a team of part-time student employees, who are responsible for off-hours recording and post-production for speakers and Denison events;
produce high-quality video of lectures and other educational events and deepen student employees’ digital skills through intentional mentoring and training.
Associate’s degree in a media-focused field with areas of emphasis such as media services, multimedia, video production, video streaming, and live sound mixing; or, two years of experience in a related field.
Must possess knowledge of current computer hardware, operating systems, client/server, and network technologies. Must be proficient in video and audio editing software such as Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, and Encore.
Knowledge of digital media, such as EDID-HDCP; technology used in system integration; visual and audio communication and its use in education; understanding of classroom technology and troubleshooting problems in the classroom; equipment used in video technology and audio as it relates to HD video.
Critical thinking; time management and prioritization; customer service skills to support and train a diverse population of varying levels of technical understanding (students, faculty, staff, visitors).
Must have a current, valid driver’s license and must be insurable under Denison’s liability insurance policy.
