The Digital Media Specialist works directly under the department’s Lead to advance faculty research, departments, communications and administrative initiatives through the production of custom media projects. Being able to lead as well as support others in audio and video development is a major component of the responsibilities of this position. Estimating project costs and expenses, directing, editing and delivering finished multi-media in a wide array of deliverables is key for this position. An employee in this position should foster continual growth and improvement within the group. This position also supervises Student Video Specialists and supports their ongoing growth and contribution to the team.
Work in collaboration with clients and production staff to produce a variety of video products for online distribution, social media, webinars, and live streaming. This position includes producing, directing and planning all aspects of production as needed, as well as coordinating with location-specific staff, departments, and activities.
Coordinate pre-production planning activities, including advising the client and guiding concept development when appropriate.
Responsible for post- production: editing and reviewing projects in process, instructing and overseeing editors, offloading media, logging and reviewing footage and B-roll, and ensuring product quality on a per project basis.
Coordinate video projects with other communications teams, departments and event production. This position requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, an attentiveness to detail, and an active awareness of the larger organizational goals to which this group contributes.
Assist with the schedules and budgets for assigned projects to ensure that project goals, milestone and deliverable are achieved and tracked.
Supervise Temp Workers, Contractors, Student Temps and other tasks as assigned.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree from an established Media, Design or ART University program.
Two years’ experience (Internship, work study or other training work) as a video and media specialist

Three year experience with the maintenance, set up, and operation of camera and audio equipment, including: Panasonic FS-700, Red Scarlet Dragon, Sony a6500, Panasonic PX270s, Canon 5D Mark II, Sennheiser wireless lavalier microphones, shotgun microphones, multichannel mixing boards, Tricaster Live Switcher, Kino Flo Celeb & Diva lights, Litepanels Astra lights and other equipment in this ever-evolving field.
Three years’ experience using NLE editing software, including the following programs for post-production utilizing the Adobe Creative Suite: Premiere Pro, Photoshop, After Effects, Illustrator, Media Encoder.
Experience managing and encoding media, including Apple ProRes, H.264 and AVCHD file formats.

Ability to visualize and conceptualize projects.
Preferred Qualifications: (Education and experience)
3-5 years’ experience in video/audio production, interactive/presentation design or other multimedia related role. Understand the management of financial and accounting components of media production.
