Reporting to the Instructional Technology and Design Manager, the incumbent will consult with faculty on available educational technologies and helps faculty create and implement technology-enhanced learning experiences. The incumbent will research and introduce new technologies that have been shown to have pedagogical value. This position works as part of the Educational Technology team to support the College's use of technology to enhance teaching and learning. Major Areas of Responsibility - Works as a member of the Educational Design team to support the College's use of technology in teaching and learning that reinforces the College's liberal arts identity.
- Consults with faculty on effective instructional design practices and available instructional technologies to help faculty create and implement technology-enhanced learning experiences.
- Coordinates with the Educational Technology team and other College stakeholders to demonstrate and showcase the potential of various instructional technologies to enhance pedagogy, scholarship, and service.
- Participate with peers and supervisor in setting priorities of various instructional technology projects and initiatives.
- Collaborate with the Digital Media Services team and other academic departments on the execution of technology-enhanced course activities as appropriate.
- Refer faculty to other ITS and Library resources as appropriate.
- Contribute to the College's key curricular initiatives and programs.
- Remain current on the range of pedagogical methods employed at the collegiate level - especially at small, liberal arts institutions.
- Represent the College in the larger higher education instructional technology/digital learning community regionally and nationally.
- Additional duties as required.
Requirements:
- Master's Degree required
- Knowledge of educational learning theories, including instructional systems design and adult learning theory.
- Demonstrated ability to work with faculty using a variety of teaching styles.
- Familiarity with best practices in academic support for undergraduate education.
- Basic video editing skills preferred.
- Knowledge of GIS tools, ePortfolio platforms, and data analysis are each a plus.
- Prior experience in a higher education environment is preferred.
- Experience in a small, private, liberal arts setting is especially preferred.
