This two-semester appointment requires broad-based creative expertise in contemporary design issues including practices in screen-based visual communication with an area of focus such as web design, interactive design, UI/UX, and a demonstrated proficiency with the tools and technologies used in these areas. This position begins in January 2020 and concludes with the Fall 2020 grading period.
Teach four studio courses per semester from among the following areas: responsive web design and or application interface design (UX/UI).
Successful candidates must possess:
● Knowledge of contemporary design issues and emerging platforms in screen-based visual communication; ● Thorough understanding of industry standard software; OS; Fluency in Mac operating system; ● Expertise in theories and tools of web or app design;
Preference is given to candidates with one or more of the following qualifications: ● MFA in Graphic Design, Digital Design or related visual communications field or the equivalent professional experience with documentation of at least 5 years of practice; ● Expertise in HTML and CSS; ● Prior college college-level teaching at the undergraduate level with experience in digital design/digital media courses; ● Experience in using technology to enhance instruction and communicate effectively with the campus community.
Salary: High 40's to Low 50's, plus benefits
