Teaching and Learning with Technology seeks a passionate and motivated candidate to serve as a Media Commons Consultant with a focus on One Button Studio support within the Media Commons, Maker Commons, and Immersive Experiences Lab initiatives team. These initiatives provide consultative services to all Penn State faculty and students interested in digital media, making, and immersive technologies. The successful candidate will be a graphic designer, filmmaker, maker, and/or content developer with a passion for teaching and designing simplified media technology workflows. Responsibilities include overseeing ensuring proper operation, and administration, of the One Button Studio video creation technology at every Penn State campus, maintaining One Button Studio support material, and working with local campus contacts to ensure smooth operation of the One Button Studio. This position may travel up to three times per month to support the One Button Studio at the Commonwealth campuses. Responsibilities will also include overseeing the Pollock Building Media Commons lab, collaborating with other members of the Media Commons team on providing consultative services to faculty and students on the appropriate application of media technologies like video and audio creation, use of the One Button Studio, 3D printing, immersive 360° video, and supporting Adobe Creative Cloud with an emphasis on Spark, XD, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, Rush, and more. The Media Commons Consultant will provide 1-on-1 consultations for students and faculty learning to produce academic-focused media with an emphasis on storytelling and narrative, demonstrate creative uses of technology, and teach workshops in a classroom environment. The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., and will be located in the Pollock Building at University Park. A professional attitude, the ability to work independently and creatively, and strong organizational and communication skills, as well as a proactive-approach to customer service are required. Along with a resume and cover letter, please submit a portfolio of your media work. Typically requires an Associate's degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
