Rider University invites applications for a Media Support Specialist I who will play a key role in providing evening support to faculty, students and staff with media needs as well as audio/video recording and editing. Individual will: supervise scheduling, distribution and maintenance of instructional technology equipment; assist with video production and light computer support in academic spaces; maintain media equipment inventory as well as user instructions on equipment use for both campuses; and handle and respond to Rider Cable TV user trouble calls.
Qualified candidate must possess an Associate's degree in a technology field or comparable experience and coursework, along with 3 years of active experience in the Audio/Visual, video/audio/broadcast production and instructional technology fields. Additional experience/skills include: some exposure to cable television systems; basic working knowledge of AV and media presentation equipment; proficient skills in the basic set-up and operation of computers as standard tools; aptitude for operating and troubleshooting a wide range of technology-based systems and equipment; good communication, organizational and interpersonal skills for daily interaction with faculty, staff and students; attention to detail; and proficient writing skills. Individual must also possess: a valid driver's license and vehicle; the ability to work days and weekends; and good physical stamina for lifting, bending and safely moving moderately heavy equipment. A Bachelor's degree and 3 years of hands on experience in the media technology field in an educational environment is preferred.
