The School of Arts, Media, & Communications at Lindenwood University invites applications for an assistant / associate professor and division director of mass communications.
Qualified applicants will possess a terminal degree in mass communications with specialization in television news production. The successful candidate will be expected to teach 3 courses (9 credit hours) each semester on television news production. Preference will be given to candidates with experience teaching online. All Lindenwood faculty members are expected to advise and mentor students, continue to develop their expertise through research and scholarship, and participate in faculty governance and campus life.
The assistant / associate professor and division director of mass communications is a full-time, 12-month faculty position that will begin August 2020. Review of applications will begin January 15, 2020 and will continue until the position is filled.
The successful candidate will teach 3 related courses (Broadcast News Writing, Television News Production, and Multiplatform Reporting) each semester. Students enroll in all three courses concurrently and collaborate in the production of a weekly newscast. As division director, the successful candidate will provide oversight, direction, and support for the Mass Communications, Advertising & Strategic Communications, Social Media & Digital Content Strategy, and Cinema Arts programs and their faculty.
Experience in media production
Experience in a Multi-Media Journalistic (MMJ)
Experience with online branding and social media to support news delivery
Experience in a television news production environment as an assignment editor, news director, and/or producer

Technological & Related Skills: Use current technology to enhance effectiveness including but not limited to computers, computer-assisted instruction programs, and audio-visual equipment; be willing to learn and apply any other new technology necessary to enhance learning; working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Canvas (LMS), CAMS (SIS), Workday (EIS); ability to use phones, fax machines, printers, scanners, and copiers.
