Holland Hall seeks a passionate, committed educator who is energized by work with students to serve as a full-time Upper School Technology and Math Teacher. This teaching position is responsible for three sections of Technology classes and two sections of Math classes. The job will entail a total of five classes per semester with up to four classes to prepare. Average class size is fourteen students. Technology classes will involve topics in coding, robotics, and digital media. Currently, there are semester-long Technology classes in Introduction to Programming, Robotics, and Gaming. There is a year-long class in AP Computer Science principles. The faculty member would be expected to develop a class in digital media. In the Math department, the faculty member will teach two sections of a lower level math course, such as Algebra I or Geometry, during the initial year. This candidate should be able to teach higher level math courses, as well, such as Calculus and/or Statistics.
The candidate should have a history of evaluating student progress and offering individualized? help to meet student needs. We value experiential learning, and we foster an atmosphere where curriculum is developed and refined to reflect the contemporary world. The position also entails serving as an advisor to a small group of upper school students starting in the second year of service to the school. This role entails keeping track of each advisee’s progress through ongoing communication with teachers and families.
Interested candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree. A Master’s degree and teaching experience are preferred but not required. Holland Hall’s Upper School is a One-to-One program with Macbook laptops, so the technology courses must use this platform.
Special consideration will be given to exemplary candidates who can also support a significant extracurricular activity or coach a sport.
