This job reports to the Dean of Academic Services with $3,557.00 (Monthly Minimum under 12- Contract)
This position reports to the Dean of Academic Services and is an integral member of a dynamic and innovative team. The Instructional Designer will play an active role in the development of high-quality courses for online and hybrid environments. This position will work with faculty from multiple divisions to provide instructional design support, consultation, needs-based training, and guidance for best-practices, ADA compliance support, and quality assurance. The Instructional Designer will work collaboratively with other members of the digital learning staff on college-wide projects including faculty training and delivering workshops. The Instructional Designer must be self-directed, meet deadlines, and work easily both within a team and in an independent setting.
Qualified candidates should have experience using authoring tools such as Camtasia and Articulate; developing courses in a known LMS environments (i.e., Blackboard, Canvas, etc.); and integrating learning and design theory into practice. Duties include;
Coordinating with faculty to develop online courses that meet the standards for quality assurance as determined by the SKYCTC quality assurance rubric. This standard includes the provision of effective consultation and training, as well as the recommendation of sound learning solutions;
Managing instructional projects including producing materials, web sites, video, graphics, and interactive media elements using a variety of digital media editors such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Creative Suite, Captivate, etc.;
Coordinating with digital learning staff and identified instructional experts within the College to develop appropriate and timely training and professional development opportunities for faculty;
Planning, directing, implementing, and evaluating courses delivered online; and staying current with the latest industry tools and trends in digital education;
Researches and makes recommendations on educational best practices, instructional resources, instructional technologies, and multimedia hardware/software to support teaching and learning addressing copywright concerns and ADA compliance issues, as well as any other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree required and Master's degree preferred. Minimum two years of experience and four years preferred.
